about
This song is the entry point into a time of transition. It’s the emotions associated with the highest level of uncertainty for what is to come. Even the most confident of people can’t help but wonder.
I remember that I first began writing this song as a second-semester college senior, knowing I would have to soon leave a place that I came to call home - a place I truly loved. My song book was laying on my dorm bed as I wrote “I have a place to lay my head, but it’s no permanent bed. I swear that I’m not scared of the future, but my brain feels held together by suture.”

lyrics
Lyrics:
They say there’s no place like home
But what if it’s not known
I have a place to lay my head,
But it’s no permanent bed
I swear that I’m not scared of the future
But my brain feels held together by suture
Welcome to the in-between
Where all the roads converge
Where there’s no ground below and the sky seems so far away
Woah, Welcome to the in-between
Sometimes the doors seem all wide open
I think that I’m seeing right I am hoping
And I’m searching for the ground to hold onto
But it’s nowhere in sight can I hold onto you
I don’t wanna just sit here and stew
Together can we find a way to break through?
Welcome to the in-between
Where all the roads converge
Where there’s no ground below and the sky seems so far away
Woah, Welcome to the in-between
But it doesn’t have to be so bad
Welcome to the in-between, Yeah (4x)
