Lyrics: They say there’s no place like home But what if it’s not known I have a place to lay my head, But it’s no permanent bed I swear that I’m not scared of the future But my brain feels held together by suture Welcome to the in-between Where all the roads converge Where there’s no ground below and the sky seems so far away Woah, Welcome to the in-between Sometimes the doors seem all wide open I think that I’m seeing right I am hoping And I’m searching for the ground to hold onto But it’s nowhere in sight can I hold onto you I don’t wanna just sit here and stew Together can we find a way to break through? Welcome to the in-between Where all the roads converge Where there’s no ground below and the sky seems so far away Woah, Welcome to the in-between But it doesn’t have to be so bad Welcome to the in-between, Yeah (4x)

Lyrics: I’ve been driving along this familiar road And thinkin’ about how I thought I’d implode You can make a list of pros and cons, you can make a list of rights and wrongs But in the end we all might lose control No I’m not ready to go I wish it weren’t true but I know You can’t have it all and so I try to move on from what’s left behind I’ve been singing now this old familiar note And thinking about how this song got wrote You can sing along my melody, you can make your own harmony But the beauty in a song is that I can stay here, stay here No I’m not ready to go I wish it weren’t true but I know You can’t have it all and so I try to move on from what’s left behind And I try to move on from what’s left behind With my words my melodies With my hope my opportunities And through it all I can’t help but sing No I’m not ready to go I wish it weren’t true but I know You can’t have it all and so No I’m not ready to go I wish it weren’t true but I know You can’t have it all and so I try to move on from what’s left behind And I try to move on from what’s left behind

Lyrics: Who would’ve thunk I’d be cold today Who would’ve thunk I’d be the one to say I can’t wait to just have it my way I can’t wait to have the warmth of may Feelin’ lonely in the snow It’s a little thing you know But it feels like the world is Crashing down Who would’ve thunk I’d be cold today Who would’ve thunk I’d be the one to say I can’t wait to just have it my way I can’t wait to have the warmth of may The snow shows that there is beauty here In this so-called place of fear But I feel there is so much more In the spring Who would’ve thunk I’d be cold today Who would’ve thunk I’d be the one to say I can’t wait to just have it my way I can’t wait to have the warmth of may

Always Have 04:33
Lyrics: Sometimes every day is a fight, a search for a candle light Maybe it’s made up fright, or even a worthless plight But I’ll always have a song, I will always have a song Sometimes every day is a dream, no need to search for a beam Life’s a relaxing stream, and maybe we’re on the same team And I’ll always have a song, I will always have a song I will always have a song, will you sing it back to me? I will always have a song, will you sing along with me? Sometimes every day is typical, it almost feels satirical You’re looking for a miracle, for life to become lyrical Well I’ll always have a song, I will always have a song I will always have a song, will you sing it back to me? I will always have a song, will you sing along with me? We can be anything, and we’ll always have a song Sometimes a song’s invisible, and other times invincible But it never hurts to sing, so let the lyrics ring We will always have a song, we will always have a song

Let It Out 03:31
Lyrics: Have you felt like the sun was dim? Or have you felt like you weren’t meant to swim? Have you felt like your heart’s tied to the tracks? Did you let it out or did you hold back? It feels like a fall, compacted in a ball. Feels like elation with infatuation Let it out, let it out Let it out, let it out for us all to hear Have you felt like it’s all fallin’ into place? Like life’s deck of cards dealt you an ace? Have you felt like you can’t do any wrong? Did you let it out or did you hide it all along? It feels like a fall, compacted in a ball. Feels like elation with infatuation Let it out, let it out Let it out, let it out for us all to hear Come on and let it out (4x) It feels like a fall, compacted in a ball. Feels like elation with infatuation Let it out, let it out Let it out, let it out for us all to hear

The Shadow 04:16
Lyrics: Searching for meaning in a world that has none What am I needing, some things to be undone? Searching for feeling when I have apathy Why am I reeling, looking for sympathy? Healing from hating, some things just take their time Saving by singing, and those words could be mine Bleeding but believing, some day it will be fine Helping by hoping, stand up and sing this line What am I seeing, why am I overcast? Longing for clearance, I know this sight can’t last What am I feeling, where did my sunlight go? Longing for substance, a reason for my low Healing from hating, some things just take their time Saving by singing, and those words could be mine Bleeding but believing, some day it will be fine Helping by hoping, stand up and sing this line Stand up and sing this line What do I want, what do I need, and where is it found? When it’s all hidden in the clouds? What do I want, what do I need, and what do I say? When my skies are all covered in gray? Let the shadow give me hope (4x) Healing from hating, some things just take their time Saving by singing, and those words could be mine Bleeding but believing, some day it will be fine Helping by hoping, stand up and sing this line Stand up and sing this line Stand up, stand up Let the shadow give me hope

Lyrics: She sure gave it her all, and still took a fall She tried to stand tall, but still she felt small And so she’s gotta go, her future awaits I said show me your might, and she put up a fight But sometimes it ain’t right to chase the same light And so she’s gotta go, her future awaits And it’s too bright for me to see A new mile, a new place A new style, a new chase The same smile, the same face Boston, here she comes She don’t wanna say bye, and neither do I But sometimes a new hi/high comes with a sad goodbye And so she’s gotta go, her future awaits Although I want to say, “hey you should stay” I know I must convey the truth today And so she’s gotta go, her future awaits And it’s so bright my eyes can’t see A new mile, a new place A new style, a new chase The same smile, the same face Boston, here she comes And it’s too bright for me to see And it’s so bright my eyes can’t see A future so bright Boston, here she comes Boston, here she comes Boston, are you ready? ‘Cuz my girl, here she comes Here she comes Here she comes

Shelter 04:05
Lyrics: Won’t you lay in the mud with me, Oh oh oh Yeah, get stuck in the mud with me, Oh oh oh I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me Oh oh oh... Why do you run, run away Every time a storm is approachin’ you Why do you run, run away We can take some shelter and let this one pass through Won’t you lay in the mud with me, Oh oh oh Yeah, get stuck in the mud with me, Oh oh oh I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me Oh oh oh... Won’t you run, run away Run with me if I say bye to Philadelphia Won’t you run, run away Run with me to the shores of California Won’t you stay, stay with me Together we can find a way to break free Won’t you stay, stay with me Together we can look into the sea Won’t you lay in the mud with me, Oh oh oh Yeah, get stuck in the mud with me, Oh oh oh I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me I will hold the umbrella for you if you will hold it for me Woah-oh-oh... Won’t you lay in the mud with me, Oh oh oh Yeah, get stuck in the mud with me, Oh oh oh We can hold the umbrella together, you and me Yeah, let’s hold the umbrella together, you and me Oh oh oh...

Lyrics: There’s a battle out there A battle of the gods, or lack thereof And there’s a war out there Of who’s right and wrong, with no way to know And the battle goes on And the war goes on This world has questions we can’t answer This world has answers that don’t matter This world has people all after love Sometimes that comes with a dove not a shove Some respect it can bring us together An open mind it can bring us together Some love it can bring us together This life, it can bring us together Some respect it can bring us together An open mind it can bring us together Some love it can bring us together This life, it can bring us together This song it can bring us together This night it can bring us together This moment, it can bring us together This line, it can bring us together Let the music bring us together Sing with me it’ll bring us together Strike a chord it’ll bring us together Let the music bring us together

Reward 04:42
Lyrics: As I’m sittin’ here waitin’ for the train, the train I realize it’s not just about umbrella in the pouring rain Sometimes we need sunglasses to enjoy the sun, the sun Before we can celebrate what we’ve done And though I know I’m fine on my own It certainly hasn’t hurt to have known I’ve got some shelter or a major chord We’re makin’ every day feel like a reward Some days we try to figure this thing out on our own, our own And then we get into the car with no destination known. Every moment on this journey no matter how far, how far We’re gonna tell ‘em about who we are And though I know I’m fine on my own It certainly hasn’t hurt to have known I’ve got some shelter or a major chord We’re makin’ every day feel like a reward We’re on this journey together you and me We’re all in this together, can’t you see? Look around as we are one tonight And when we leave here don’t forget, together we can take flight. Flight, yeah And though I know I’m fine on my own It certainly hasn’t hurt to have known I’ve got some shelter or a major chord We’re makin’ every day feel like a reward

Be Free 05:04
Lyrics: Would you sit next to me Lay by the sea Look at the stars and be free Would you come sit by the fire Take a break from what’s transpired Grasp this moment and be inspired Just take a fresh ounce of breath Just take one moment here with me Open up your mind Maybe you’ll find Just how amazing this world can be I know just how we are We push ourselves so far All to be a star I know you gave it your all You’re in for the long haul But can you break before you fall Just take a fresh ounce of breath Just take one moment here with me Open up your mind Maybe you’ll find Just how amazing this world can be Open up your mind Maybe you’ll find Just how amazing this world can be Would you sit next to me Lay by the sea Look at the stars and be free

Cali Skies 04:28
Lyrics: I’ve been searchin’ for so very long For a place that I can sing my song And for a girl to sing the harmonies With a voice that’ll bring me to my knees As I drive along this coast it’s you on my mind And I’m hopin’ it’s not you who’d be left behind As I breathe this Cali air, yeah I might find Everything I’m lookin’ for has now aligned I’m out here singin’ under those Cali skies I’ve got the ocean right here by my side The place I’ve always dreamt to call my home Now will you find me here or will I move on I feel there’s something big comin’ along Maybe it’s a place for me where I belong Will I be oceanside feelin’ that breeze The one that freed me from days like these I’m makin’ sure that life don’t pass me by But now I’m sittin’ here takin’ a deep sigh Cuz sometimes it comes with a tough goodbye And when I say how I feel I don’t tell a lie I’m out here singin’ under those Cali skies I’ve got the ocean right here by my side The place I’ve always dreamt to call my home Now will you find me here or will I move on I’m out here singin’ under those Cali skies I’ve got the ocean right here by my side The place I’ve always dreamt to call my home Now will you find me here or will I move on I’m singin’ California, woah California, woah I’m out here singin’ under those Cali skies I’ve got the ocean right here by my side The place I’ve always dreamt to call my home Now will you find me here or will I move on

Lyrics: Can we make in known? Can we find a home? Won’t you search along with me? Won’t you sing along with me? To make it known And find a home We’ll find a home (3x) Where we belong (4x) We’ll leave the in-Between (1x) leave the in-Between (3x) Woah

about

Kevin Cox’s debut album explores the full spectrum of emotions during a time of transition. The in-Between is a journey from the messy, difficult feelings of transition to a place where we belong. Along the way, we hear stories of loss, of finding shelter, and of turning that shelter into hope and positivity. The album features a balance of distorted and purer guitar tones to accompany lyrics that elicit a sense of longing for arrival in a place with more certainty.

Upon graduating from Ursinus College in May 2015, things felt bittersweet for Kevin. He didn’t know exactly what was next professionally, and he was watching his close friends spread throughout the country and the world. While trying to move on from the positives that were left behind, Kevin also discovered the beauty in the freedom of what lay ahead and in the people he had by his side. He used this freedom and support to write his first full-length album and to pair up with Chris Cachuela, owner of Chaplin’s in Spring City, PA, to make the songs come to life in the way we hear on the record. Chris co-produced, mixed, and mastered the album.
